Barking Stabbing, London: Two Men Charged After Serious River Road Attack Leaves Man Critically Injured

A serious stabbing in Barking, east London, prompted a major emergency response after three men were injured during what police described as a large fight on River Road.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, following reports of a disturbance involving a number of people. Officers attended alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and found three men, aged 22, 23 and 28, suffering injuries.

All three men were taken to hospital for treatment. The youngest victim, aged 22, had sustained stab wounds and remained in critical condition following the incident. The other two men were subsequently discharged from hospital and arrested in connection with the investigation.

Police later confirmed that Jamario Morgan, 23, of Dacre Park, Lewisham, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife. Arran Bailey, 28, of Tylecroft Road, Croydon, was charged with attempted murder and battery. Both men were remanded in custody and were due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

Detectives continued to appeal for information, noting that other people believed to have been involved in the confrontation had not yet been identified. Officers urged anyone who witnessed the incident or had information that could assist the investigation to come forward.

The stabbing has renewed concern about serious violence in the Barking area, although the circumstances of this particular incident remain the focus of the police investigation.

Authorities have encouraged witnesses to contact police and provide any information that may help establish how the confrontation began and what led to the stabbing.
