YORK COUNTY, S.C. — The York County community is mourning the tragic loss of Daryn Hill, 29, who died following a head-on collision on Hord Road on Sunday, August 30, 2026. The fatal crash has left family, friends and loved ones grieving as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred during the afternoon on Hord Road in York County. Preliminary information indicates that two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collided head-on, prompting a large emergency response from law enforcement, firefighters and emergency medical personnel. Hill sustained critical injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead as a result of those injuries.
