It is with great sadness that friends and members of the Orangeville-area community are remembering Sean Greer, who passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 55. For many people in the community, Sean was more than a familiar face. Over the years, customers and friends of The Hatter came to know him as a friend, neighbour and valued member of the local community. His presence became familiar to many, creating connections that extended well beyond a single place or gathering. Sean was also a dear friend and neighbour to those making the announcement, making his passing especially difficult for those who knew him personally. His loss is being deeply felt by friends, neighbours, customers and others whose lives he touched throughout the years. A Celebration of Life has been arranged to give family, friends and members of the wider community an opportunity to come together, share memories and pay their respects. The celebration will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Alton Legion, 1267 Queen Street West, Alton. The gathering is expected to bring together many of the familiar faces who knew Sean through The Hatter, the Orangeville area and the surrounding community. As friends and loved ones gather to honour his memory, Sean will be remembered for the relationships he built and the place he held within the community. His passing leaves behind a sense of loss among those who had the privilege of knowing him. The Celebration of Life will provide an opportunity for those who knew Sean to come together in remembrance and celebrate the life of a much-loved friend and neighbour.
